What is the Special Land Sale initiative about?
The Special Land Sales Company (St Kitts) Ltd is an initiative established by the Government and the St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd to sell the lands that have been vested in the Bank. 1200 acres of land were vested in the Bank to liquidate the Government’s indebtedness to the institution. In addition, the Company is responsible for selling 496 acres of the La Valle project in Sandy Point and 25 acres at Potato Bay, Frigate Bay development.
Is Special Land Sales a private or public company?
It is Private Company – 50% owned by the Government and 50% owned by National Bank.
What is the process to apply for land under this initiative?
Application Forms are available here. The applicant pays to survey the plot he is interested in and signs a Purchase and Sale Agreement. The matter is taken to the Board of Directors for a decision. All projects must be approved by the Government.
What is the minimum/maximum purchase that can be made?
The minimum purchase is 5 acres. Maximum is based on the proposal put forward for the use of the lands.
What is the purchase price per square foot for lands?
Price starts at EC$12.00 per square foot.
